    This spinach banana smoothie recipe is hands down one of the best smoothies I have ever made! It's vegan, healthy and easy to throw together.

    This is now my daily smoothie. The flavor combo is so amazing! Plus it's packed with greens, super healthy and keeps me satisfied and full!

    Not only are smoothies so easy and convenient, but they're so tasty! Who wouldn't want to sip on something that tastes like a treat but is really healthy? This particular smoothie is full of protein, potassium, fiber, and vitamin A. It's also easy to customize to personal needs and tastes!

    Ingredients

    These are the ingredients I like to use and recommend for the best spinach banana smoothie:

    • Dairy free milk
    • Frozen banana 
    • Spinach
    • Dairy free yogurt 
    • Ice cubes 
    • Vanilla protein powder 
    • Dates 
    • Almond butter

    How To Make Spinach Banana Smoothies

    No time for breakfast? No problem! This smoothie is ready in no time, here's what to do:

    Add in ideas

    For added nutrition and flavor, try including these other ingredients:

    • Chia seeds
    • Flax seeds
    • Kale
    • Berries
    • Oats
    • Peanut Butter

    Tips and tricks

    Making spinach banana smoothies is pretty simple, but these extra tips should come in handy:

    • The dates are optional and are added for sweetness. If you use sweetened protein powder or vanilla yogurt instead of plain, you may not want to add them.
    • You can add the almond butter for extra protein and healthy fat.
    • I like to freeze milk in ice cube trays to use with smoothies because it makes it much creamier than using ice.
    • If you forget to freeze your banana, this will still work but you may need more ice. It also won't be as creamy smooth.
    • You can prep this ahead of time by pre portioning the ingredients. Place the frozen items in a freezer safe container and store in the freezer. Measure out the remaining ingredients into an airtight container and store in the refrigerator. All that's left to do is dump and blend!

    Ingredients
      

    • ½ cup dairy free milk of choice , I used cashew (the creamier the better)
    • 1 frozen banana , see note
    • 2 cups packed spinach
    • ½ cup plain or vanilla dairy free yogurt , see note
    • ⅛ teaspoon sea salt
    • ⅛ teaspoon cinnamon
    • 10-12 ice cubes , see note
    • ¼ cup vanilla protein powder , optional (see note)
    • 1-2 dates , optional for added sweetness (see note)
    • 1 tablespoon almond butter , optional (see note)

    Instructions
     

    • Place everything into a blender.
    • Blend on low until thick and smooth, stop to scrape down sides along the way.
    • Enjoy!

    Notes

    • The optional ingredients depend on what you choose to add. If you use protein powder that is sweetened, then you may not need any dates. If you use vanilla yogurt that is sweetened you also may not need any dates.
    • You can add the almond butter for extra protein and healthy fat.
    • I like to freeze milk in ice cube trays to use with smoothies because it makes it much creamier than using ice.
    • If you forget to freeze your banana, this will still work but you may need more ice. It also won't be as creamy smooth.
    • The nutrition information will change a lot depending on the brands you use for each ingredient. You should calculate them yourself for accuracy.
