For our first two kids we waited to find out the gender. After all we had gone through to get pregnant with our first, we truly didn't care or even think about, whether we would have a boy or a girl, we were just over the moon that we were lucky enough to have a baby at all! It killed everyone else, but waiting for us was easy. When we miraculously got pregnant with our second only 5 months after I had the first, we once again felt beyond blessed because although we were content with one child, we felt relieved that we would be able to give him a sibling. Waiting again was easy, especially because our first was too young to have any idea about what was going on. The delivery room surprise was so amazing and we loved every minute, both times. But when this third little surprise came along, it was something we weren't expecting or even trying for. We decided since we were blessed enough to be able to do this one last time, why not do things different? We also wanted our boys to know whether they were having a brother or sister since they are old enough to understand what was going on.

We still wanted the big reveal to be a surprise of some sort, so my good friend and photographer Elizabeth, at Elizabeth Patton Photography, suggested we get cupcakes made with the color filling of what we were expecting. She could photograph us all finding out the gender as a family. I loved this idea since baking is a big part of my life, so we made it all happen with the help of one of my best friends who took the call from the doctor and arranged for the cupcakes.

I knew that I wanted the cupcakes to be vegan, so I set out to find a bakery who would be able to not only make what we needed for the reveal but could also make them vegan. Luckily our local Whole Foods was up to the challenge. The baker was so amazing and helpful, not to mention excited for us. She created these delicious vegan vanilla bean cupcakes with vegan buttercream vanilla bean frosting. They were incredible! Dense and flavorful, and nothing like the cheap variety you usually find with vanilla cupcakes. A huge thank you to Whole Foods who made this already great time in our lives, even better.

So without further ado...we are thrilled to announce our family will be completed with me remaining as queen!! We are so very excited to have a third little boy, and although some wanted some pink in our lives, I am first and foremost just happy that all tests so far have come out for an amazingly healthy baby. Second I feel that I am a really really good boy mom and love the idea of raising another little boy. I love all things cars, sports and legos and can't wait for a life filled with it all. We make such sweet, caring, loving boys and to be blessed with another is almost unbelievable. Now the only tough part is a name! Thank you all for your support during this transition and for sticking with me as I navigate through the tough parts. There is so much goodness to come in the future!

It's him, of course - it's your husband's genes. But you know that. Never mind; I think a third boy will make an even more wonderful family picture - and this current one is GORGEOUS !

Thank you so much Mandy! It was really fun and I loved seeing the looks on the boys faces. Although the little one was really focused on how good the cupcake was. Lol!
