I am a margarita lover. As in I reaaaaaaally love them. So I am always throwing together different flavors, but I do not like overly sweet drinks, and prefer tart and tangy. So this passion fruit flavor is right up my alley!

There's really no such thing as a bad margarita, but there is such thing as an amazing one. Unique flavors are a great way to mix up your margarita game. This passion fruit margarita is always a crowd pleaser, and it's so easy to make!

    Ingredients

These are the ingredients you will need to make the perfect passion fruit margarita:

    • Passion fruit syrup
    • Tequila
    • Lime juice
    • Agave nectar
    • Orange liqueur
    • Soda water
    • Drizzle Mezcal
    • Three bottles of alcohol sitting on a wooden surface
    • A glass bottle filled with orange liquid sitting on a towel next to limes and passion fruit

How to Make a Passion Fruit Margarita

    1. Add passion fruit, tequila, lime, agave, orange liquor and mezcal to a glass and mix well. Orange liquid being poured into a cocktail glass with a lime on the rim
    2. Serve over ice with optional soda water. A hand grabbing a glass with an orange drink next to a passion fruit

    Tips and tricks

Margaritas are easy to make, but a few extra helpful hints can't hurt:

    • You can omit the soda water and simply add more passion fruit juice/syrup, however it will be much stronger in tartness and sweetness.
    • For a sweeter drink, use more agave nectar. For a more tart taste, either use less, or leave it out completely.
    • Tequila is what makes this a margarita, but feel free to experiment with other liquors. Vodka or a light rum would taste good with these flavors.
    • Make a big batch ahead of time! Simply mix everything but the soda water and ice. When ready to serve, pour over ice and mix in the soda water.
    • Add more flavor by rimming your glass. Rub some lime juice along the rim of the cup, then dip it in a mixture of salt and Tajín.
    • If you like spicy, add some jalapeños to your margarita.
    • Make a blended passion fruit margarita by mixing up all the ingredients minus the soda water in a blender with one cup of ice.

    Common Questions

How do you make quick margaritas?

Making a quick margarita is easy! Just add everything to a shaker, shake it up to mix, and pour over ice. These passion fruit margaritas are made in just 5 minutes!

Do you use sugar or salt on a margarita?

The standard rim for a margarita is salt. However, some sweeter flavors, like mango or strawberry, occasionally are paired with a sugar rim. It's up to your personal preference.

Can you make margaritas ahead of time?

Yes you can! Just mix everything up without the ice and chill. When you're ready to serve, simply pour over ice and add soda water if desired.
