The boys had so much fun and felt such success. I loved the idea that they helped make their own teacher's gifts. And it's a pretty mess free project, with some adult help (definitely don't let them do it alone especially with some of the hot ingredients).

    Instructions

    • Melt coconut oil and cocoa butter into liquid form. I used the microwave, it took about 1-2 minutes. You can also use a double boiler.
    • Add all ingredients into a bowl and mix to incorporate. Store in plastic or glass jars. Use on body 1-2 times a week for deep exfoliation.

    Notes

    • You can also use all coconut oil but the cocoa butter is very moisturizing and keeps the scrub together well.
    • Make sure the coconut oil and cocoa butter are melted before assembling and

Love gingerbread flavor and smell, I bet this smells just fantastic! I love making diy scrubs and my favorite thing is face masks. You already know how I feel about all the social media stuff. Keep it real and enough with the competitiveness crap. People are too threatened by others and all it does is show insecurity.

I have loved hearing about all your home made face masks! I need to make one soon. This was super fun to make and smells SO yum! I am with you, maybe just focus on yourself and not worry so much about others and then you'll be happy with where you are!

Let me first say that your kids are beyond ADORABLE!!! So so precious!! And this body scrub sounds good enough to eat - YUM!

I gotta tell you, your IG page (and blog) has always stood out to me because you stand firm in what you believe in - you're genuine, real and incredibly talented. This past year has been very difficult for me as I learned the hard way about who is real and who isn't. Bloggers and IG pages conforming into what they see as popular, even if it means losing sight of who they really are. The obsession with the number of followers is crazy. The competitive nature of social media has been an absolute downer, but I surround myself with those who keep doing what they're doing without focusing on the number of "likes" or followers. What I'm trying to say is keep doing what YOU'RE doing!! I will support you no matter what type of post you share. I'm looking forward to what 2016 has in store for you!! And definitely be proud of your success!!! You've worked damn hard to get where you are today without sacrificing who you are. Love to you, my friend!! ❤️❤️

Awe Mandy, your comment really made my day! I try to be real, I am not a fake in any way. That's why I have always been transparent in how we live our lives even among all the rude comments in the past. But ignoring and moving on is the way to go for me because I am happy and proud of our lives. I'm sorry it's been so tough for you. I guess I have some thick skin most of the time and just delete all the nasty stuff before letting it sink in much, LOL. A bully will never engage with those who turn their back! I agree, it's quality over quantity. I much prefer to be the turtle than the hare. Plus in my book, as long as I get to be myself and stick to what I love to do, I'm happy. And I know I'm at least reaching a few people so coolio!! I'm learning how to ignore the annoyingness of social media and just focus on the great part like meeting awesome peeps like you!! Looking forward to a new year with all my old buds!

to me, authentic means that if you know me, you know you can count on me - to be consistent, to be kind, to celebrate and be genuinely happy for your successes. you'll always know where you stand with me. for my blog readers and clients, authentic means my own true voice. my ideas and creations, no matter what the trends might be.

I quite enjoy the internet *because* of all the friendships I have made - many that have become in real life friendships, and a couple that are very close friends.

the negative side of the internet is the anonymous aspect, which allows some to act and speak differently than they would face to face. even further, internet anonymity allows these same people to justify their actions with poor excuses. when people explain away horrible behavior by blaming completely unrelated circumstances, that is not authentic - that is simply true character.

we all get to choose how we treat others in life - just as we can choose who to spend time with, and who to not.

(what is the podcast, by the way? I'd love to listen!)

Thank you SO much for your awesome thoughtful comment friend! I totally agree with everything you said, I do enjoy meeting so many great great people online that I hope to meet in person one day. But it definitely comes with a bad side, however I do think that eventually true colors come out...I am so lucky to have met you here! Thank you for your kind words always! Now I have to go look at your blog and find the scrubs, SO cool! I have never done a post like this but it was something that I really wanted to share and have already had one reader make it with great results! And my boys loved making it too, so that's a win in my book. Anything that is a success here I definitely want to tell the world about! Here's to 2016, the year of being you and continuing great friendships!

LOVE this message and love you. It can absolutely get CRAZY out here in internet blogger land. But you are so right that we all need to just be ourselves because that is the only way we can feel good about the work we put out there. It is a challenge to find your VOICE as a blogger and to put yourself out there, but it feels so good once you get there. Thank you for reminding me of such an inspiring word Sophia! #AUTHENTICITYin2016

Thank you so much Kathy! I feel so blessed that this blogger world has led me to so many awesome people, including all you LA friends. But it definitely can get hard. I find that focusing on what's inside me and what makes me happy helps me stay focused. I love all the different blogger voices out there, I can always tell when something is yours! And I think that's what people don't realize, there is always enough room for more unique authentic voices, it's when you aren't yourself that you get lost in the shuffle. Here's to 2016, and being authentic. And now off to check out the French Toast I see....OMG it sounds AMAZING!
